COPTIC ART OF ETERNITY – PAINTING PARADISE
I beg the readers’ pardon for putting up this excellent documentary by BBC4, Art of Eternity, again.* I want it to appear as a separate entry, and post the available two videos that deal with the Copts, for the benefit of the reader of this blog. I have called this part, “Coptic Art of Eternity”, and truly it is. The reader will know that the documentary was aired for the first time in 2007, and presented by the British, Andrew Graham-Dixon, probably the world’s leading art historian and critic. Here they are:
Part 1: Covers Graham-Dixon’s visits to Old Cairo, where he attended the Feast of St. George celebration and visited the Hanging Church and the Coptic Museum, and then to the Egyptian Museum
Part2: Explores the recent discoveries at the Red Monastery in Sohag and the Monastery of Saint Antony at the Red Sea.
